Khimki’s offense subdues Fuenlabrada

Khimki Moscow players did more their job against Fuenlabrada with a 96 – 84 win and now wait for Alba Berlin to do theirs vs Bilbao in order for the Russians to advance in the Eurocup Top 16.

Not only did Fuenlabrada lose the game, but also a possible tie-breaking advantage, since the Spaniards had beaten Khimki by four points, 89 – 84 at home.

The victors’ offense worked to near perfection, mostly thanks to Alexey Shved (19 points, 8 assists) and Jacob Pullen (20 points). Lots of good work also by Marko Todorovic (15 p. 9 r.), Nobel Boungou-Colo (14 points) and Jeremy Evans (10 points).

Fuenlabrada began falling behind with double-digit numbers during the second quarter when Cuspinera’s players went down 38 – 28. Lack of defense never allowed them to recover enough to seriously threaten their opponents.

Rolands Smits scored 21 points and Pako Cruz added 15 for the losing side.
