After losing their first six games of the Eurocup season, Union Olimpija decided that enough is enough. Through teamwork and by playing solid defense, they downed Ratiopharm Ulm 76 – 72 to stay alive in the race for the qualification.
The German team was ahead 43 – 42 at halftime, but their hosts dominated the third period 20 – 14 to take an advantage which they preserved until the end of the game.
Mirko Mulalic led Union Olimpija in scoring with 16 points and Gregor Hrovat added 13 plus 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Per Guenther had 15 points and Tim Olbrecht 12 along with 9 rebounds for Ulm.
