Hitting one 3-pointer after the other, finishing the game with 16/30, Zalgiris Kaunas and Kevin Pangos took it from where it left it in the mid-week EuroLeague win vs Brose Baskets, comfortably defeating Lietuvos Rytas 84 – 68 for the Lithuanian League.
The reigning champs continue standing strong at the first place with a 12 – 1 record, while the team from Vilnius fell third after this loss, with 9 wins and 4 defeats.
After having his best performance so far in EuroLeague against the German team, Pangos now tied his season-high in LKL by dropping 22 points (with 6/11 from beyond the arc) on Rytas, pacing his team together with Brock Motum (15 points) and Leo Westermann (12 points, 9 assists).
Lietuvos Rytas couldn’t do much against its opponents’ shooting spree. Coach Pacesas’ players were trailing 51 – 30 at the end of the first half and even if they tried to be more competitive in the third quarter (15 – 24), they didn’t have the needed endurance to claim something from the game.
Drew Gordon was the top performer from the losing side with 14 points and 15 rebounds while Arturas Gudaitis added 13 points.
