Panathinaikos blew away 96 – 59 Apollon Patras at home with incredible ease, thus remaining hot pursuit of first and undefeated Olympiacos (8-0), in the conclusion of GameDay 8 of the Greek Basket League.
James Feldeine paced the winners with 17 points plus 5 rebounds while K.C. Rivers and Lefteris Bochoridis added 11 apiece. No player of Apollon (2-6) scored in double digits, with Giorgos Diamantakos dropping 9 points.
After the defending champs forced AEK (7-1) to its first loss of the season, the Greens (7-1) took advantage of their arch-rivals’ victory to climb in the second place of the standings, where they are now tied with Jure Zdovc’s team.
PAOK (5-3) survived a tough Rethymno (4-4) at home to remain fourth while there’s a three-way tie at the fifth place among the Cretan team, Kolossos Rhodes (4-4) and Aris (4-4).
