Georgios Printezis of Olympiacos spoke to “Pame Stoixima” facebook page (ed.note: one of the official team sponsors) and addressed the new Euroleague system, as well as his thoughts on how the competition has been shaped this season.
“They are trying to bring the Euroleague closer to the NBA, though we have a long way to go until then. It’s tougher, the season is bigger and you need more consistency and concentration”, said the forward.
The new Euroleague is highly demanding for both teams and players, yet Printezis seems positive.”We are not forced to do anything, we just play basketball. Even though our free time has been limited, it’s a pleasure for us to play this way. We’re neither mining nor digging, we do something pleasurable.”
“I personally like that I have sacrificed some of my personal time in order to be in the court with my team and my teammates. I wish I can give the same answer even after two months, eight months or two years. That’s the matter”, he insists. “I only wish we had more time to rest and prepare ourselves during the summer.”
