Cedevita had already qualified before the game, but the result was more than important for Nizhny Novgorod. The Croatian champs beat MZT (95-61) and pushed the Russians to the Eurocup Top16.
With newcomer Ryan Boatright (photo) leading all scorers with 20 points, the hosts after leading by six at half time (44-38), finished the game in the third quarter which ended with them having a 24 points advantage (71-47) and a partial 27-9 score. Jure Lalic was the top scorer of the losing side with 14 points.
MZT does not have a win yet (0-6) in Group A and has not any chance of advancing, while Cedevita is already at 5-2 and they duel with Gran Canaria (5-1) for the top spot of the final group standings.
