Lokomotiv forced CSKA to its first loss for the season in the VTB league with 83-74.
Led by Kevin Jones’ double double of 21 points and 15 rebounds, Sasa Obradovic‘s team improved to 6-2 in the league’s standings, while CSKA fell to 7-1.
Dimitris Itoudis’ team entered the game forcefully and even outdid the hosts during the first period with 10-21, though the latter scored 26 points in both the second and the third period, while CSKA scored 20 and 16 points in respective quarters.
For the winners, apart from Jones’ incredible performance, Maurice Collins had 15 points, Andrey Zubkov scored 14, Ryan Broekhoff had 12 and Matt Janning 10.
For CSKA, Dmitry Kulagin finished the game with 13 points, Aaron Jackson added 12 and Vitaly Fridzon 10. CSKA Moscow is now tied with Unics Kazan at the top of the league standings with a 7-1 record, Khimki and Zenit follow at 6-1 and Lokomotiv Kuban climbed at the 5th spot with a 6-2 record.
