Giannis Athinaiou scored a 23-point season high and Olympiacos kept its undefeated streak in the Greek Basket League after a comfortable 81 – 60 road win against Trikala.
The Reds controlled all aspects of the game, especially after the first quarter. It was only until then that the hosts presented a competitive picture, trailing 14 – 18.
Olympiacos made it 14 – 29 with an 11-point run in the second period and never looked back afterwards, increasing the lead per its desires. The first half finished 29 – 48 and then Patric Young dropped 7 consecutive points out of the 9 with which he finished the match, helping his team even grab a 25-point lead, 37 – 62.
Coach Sfairopoulos made a strong rotation, dividing time to all of his players. Apart from Athinaiou and Young, Kostas Papanikolaou scored 10 and grabbed 5 rebounds while Erick Green added 9 points.
For Trikala, Gilvydas Birouta and Mike Coffey scored 12 points apiece.
