CSKA Moscow prevailed over VEF Riga with 82-51, improving to 8-1 in the league’s standings after 9 games. Dimitris Itoudis’ team was led by Vitaly Fridzon, Victor Khryapa and Mikhail Kulagin who scored 12 points each. Nikita Kurbanov had 10 points for the reigning European champions, while Semen Antonov contributed 7 points and 10 rebounds.
The Latvian team was limited to an 8–player rotation and Kristopher Richard scored 23 points, while Martins Meiers added 12.
With the Russians scoring 23 and 25 points in the first two quarters (while the visitors only made 8 and 9 respectively), the fate of the game was obvious from early on. Though the game wasn’t quite the challenge for CSKA, due to VEF’s aforementioned lack of rotation.
