Istanbul Buyuksehir upsets Galatasaray

The final game of the 10th Week of the Turkish Basketball Super League had a great upset in store. And the perpetrator was none other than Istanbul Buyuksehir that stunned Galatasaray 71 – 61!

Definitely a surprise, given that this was only the fourth victory for Buyksehir in the season and it took place against one of the title contenders, no less.

The hosts played excellent defense throughout the whole game and with Sean Armand (18 points, 7 assists), Earl Calloway (14 points) and Javis Varnando (10 points, 8 rebounds) leading the charge on the other end, achieved a grandiose win.

With Austin Daye still sidelined and few solutions in offense, Galatasaray lacked scoring options. Still, things could have been differently, if not for a horrid 4/26 from downtown or the 15 turnovers coach Ataman’s players committed.

Goksenin Koksal dropped 14 points and grabbed 9 rebounds, Sinan Guler scored 13 and dished 7 assists while Vladimir Micov and Alex Tyus had 10 points each for the “Cimbom”.
