Nando De Colo’s much awaited return to action was combined with a quite solid personal performance that led CSKA Moscow to an easy victory 85 – 63 vs Enisey for the VTB League.
The French combo guard scored 19 points and grabbed 6 rebounds for 24 in PIR showing a fine degree of readiness after his injury. Vitaly Fridzon added 13 points, while Mikhail Kulagin and Viktor Khryapa added 10 each.
Enisey (Vladimir Pichkurov 12 points, Tony Taylor 11 points, 6 assists) was close 40 – 36 at halftime, but was forced into committing a total number of 24 (!) turnovers by its opponents while shooting 7/27 from beyond the arc. With these two stains in its performance, it couldn’t appear consistently competitive, at least enough to battle an opponent so powerful as CSKA.
The defending champs established a double-digit lead in the third quarter and kept increasing it, never looking back until the end. They are currently first in the standings with a 10 – 1 record (same as Unics Kazan) while Enisey fell to the seventh place with 5-6.
