Ante Zizic has finally joined Darussafaka Dogus, confirming yesterday’s reports. The Turkish team posted a video on its twitter page, with the Croatian youngster dunking in front of the camera and greeting the team’s fans.
Zizic (2.10 meters, 19 years old) leads the Adriatic League in scoring (20 ppg.), shooting percentage (69.5%), rebounds (9.2 rpg.) and performance index rating (28.2), while also ranking fourth in blocked shots (1.2 bpg.). He was named the competition’s weekly MVP three times this season. Zizic also led the Adriatic League in rebounding last season (8.0 rpg.)
He is a product of the KK Split youth system and also played for the Cedevita junior team before joining Cibona in 2014. Zizic also played for the Croatian national junior team, with whom he won a silver medal at the U19 World Championships in Greece. He is also the younger brother of former EuroLeague star Andrija Zizic, who won the EuroLeague in 2014 with Maccabi Tel Aviv under current Darussafaka head coach David Blatt.
