Misko Raznatovic, the head of Beobasket agency, spoke to Serbian portal “Sportklub.rs” and among other things, he revealed that Rade Zagorac will sign his contract with Memphis in the upcoming summer.
As he said: “It is almost certain that Rade Zagorac will sign with the Grizzlies next year. In NBA it is called ’verbal commitment’ – unlike Europe where verbal agreements don’t mean much, in USA they stick to what was agreed in regard to plan of development of a certain player. That is the main reason why Zagorac stayed in Mega, so that he could go to the NBA next season”.
Also speaking about Ante Zizic, he explained that his move to Darussafaka Dogus doesn’t change much in relation to the Celtics and to the NBA: “Darussafaka is absolutely not an obstacle for him going to the NBA next year, if it were, it wouldn’t have happened. Zizic will be dominant in the NBA and I want him to go there as soon as possible – next year he will be 20, so that’s it. As for his impact in Darussafaka, I will give an example. They have beaten Fenerbahce and their centers (Savas, Aldemir, Erdeb) scoring 3 points combined, while Slaughter is injured. That is a team that relies mainly on guards and forwards. As a kid, Ante went on a try-out with Maccabi alongside Dragan Bender. At the time, David Blatt was more impressed with Zizic than with Bender, so he remembers him from back then. Maybe it is a bit odd to bring a 19 year old in the middle of the season and expect immediate impact on the court, but Zizic is totally ready to make that impact and give necessary contribution, both mentally and physically”.
