EA7 Emporio Armani Milano is still in crisis and Zalgiris Kaunas proved it with an important road win. The Lithuanian champs prevailed in Italy and as the final score (78-70) indicates, they did it with ease.
Thanks to a balanced offense, led by Arturas Milankins 16 points and Edgaras Ulanovas 11 points on 100% shooting (5/5 FG), while Kevin Pangos with 6 points and 7 assists dictated the tempo, Zalgiris never really lost control of the game. On the same time the hosts were trying to catch up with the Lithuanians without success.
To be exact they led for most of the first half which ended with Zalgiris up by three (36-33). Despite a 13-0 run by Milano (46-43) – after a suspension of the game due to a technical inconvenience at the scorers equipment – the score was tied at 56 at the end of the third period and the last quarter started with a 18-4 run for the guests (74-60) which decided the outcome.
The hosts got 16 points by Mantas Kanlietis, 15 points by Ricky Hickman and also 15 by Rakim Sanders who was hurt in the back, still their lack of chemistry and team spirit was more than evident when it counted. Milan slipped to its eighth consecutive loss.
