The Philadelphia 76ers came up big in the fourth quarter a night after collapsing in the final 12 minutes.
Turk Ersan Ilyasova had a career-high 23 points and 13 rebounds and the 76ers survived a flurry in the final seconds to beat the Denver Nuggets 124-122 on Friday night. Serb Nikola Jokic had a game-high 25 points for the Nuggets, Italian Danilo Gallinari added 18 points and Bosnian Jusuf Nurkic added 2. Croatian Dario Saric had a double double (13 p. 11 r.) for the winners and French Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot added 5 points.
Giannis Antetokounmpo had 25 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the Bucks, but the Greek Freak big night was not enough as the Timberwolves beat the Bucks 116-99. Spaniard Ricky Rubio had 5 points, 9 assists and 4 steals and Serb Nemanja Bjelica added 10 points for the winners. Bosnian Mirza Teletovic added 8 points for the Bucks.
Latvian Kristaps Porzingis had 21 points and 12 rebounds, but the Knicks shot just 37.6 percent (35 of 93) and the Pelicans beat them 104-92. French Joakim Noah added 6 rebounds, Slovenian Sasha Vujacic had 3 points and Spaniard Willy Hernangomez had 2 points.
