In light of the recent terrorist attack in club “Reina” of Istanbul that cost the lives of 39 people, Real Madrid head coach Pablo Laso was asked about his feelings and thoughts that go through his mind when his team has to play a game in the Turkish city.
“There are fewer people going in the city. I haven’t been in the Grand Bazaar but some of our people have been there. “Obviously there’s a lot of fear around. We don’t have that feeling at any time we are there. We are staying in Istanbul for less than 48 hours and we spent them on going from the airport to the hotel and then to training. We are not living there but it’s true that these attacks are f…ed up,” Laso said as reported by Marca.
Real Madrid has already played against Fenerbahce, Darussafaka Dogus and Anadolu Efes in Istanbul during the first leg of the EuroLeague regular season. The “Blancos” will travel there again on early March for the match vs Galatasaray.
“We will have to go there at least once. Most of the times friends and relatives are more worried than we are.”
