Things were more than easy for Barcelona in the first game of 2017. The Catalans got the 86-75 road win over Zaragoza and now have a 11-3, good enough for the second spot of the Spanish Liga Endesa standings.
After a balanced first quarter which ended with Barcelona leading 19-17, thanks to a barrage of three point shots led by Petteri Koponen the players of coach Bartzokas got a 39-19 lead. At half time the score was 51-38 in their favor, Barcelona led by 25 at the end of the third (75-50) and Zaragoza when everything was over managed to cut the final point difference to 11 points.
Ante Tomic and Koponen scored 18 points each for the winners, who had in total 15/33 threes. Robin Benzing had 20 for Zaragoza but he couldn’t affect the final outcome.
