Giannis Antetokounmpo’s fanbase is increasing rapidly with every passing second thanks to his exploits and he’s gathering admirers even among NBA…. legends.
In case you’re wondering who is his biggest fan then the mighty Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s got you covered. “Hakeem Olajuwon is his biggest fan,” said the six-time NBA champ. “He’s said to me: ‘Kareem! Have you heard about Antetokounmpo?’. I got the chance to see him play and he’s everything that they wanted him to be in Wisconsin. I wish him well.”
Jabbar discussed the Bucks’ point-forward and his progress together with Tracy McGrady and ESPN’s Zach Lowe on “The Jump” hosted by Rachel Nichols. “The thing I like about him is the way he finds people that… they don’t even know they are open. He finds them and gives them the ball,” said Jabbar who led the Milwaukee Bucks to winning the title in 1971, earning Finals MVP honors.
When McGrady was asked if Giannis is a franchise defining player, he said, “He’s a franchise player! No doubt about that. This kid is next. He has unbelievable talent. He reminds me a little. If he develops the jumper…he’s going to be scary.”
