After announcing his retirement yesterday, former Baskonia and Argentinean national team player Pablo Prigioni said ‘goodbye’ with a press conference in Vitoria’s Fernando Buesa Arena, accompanied by Baskonia‘s president, Josean Querejeta.
“Playing for Baskonia gave me the same feeling as playing for my national team”, admitted Prigioni, rather moved. It’s no coincidence he chose the Spanish team to end his career, as he has spent several years there before going overseas.
During the press conference, he was asked to do a review of his career and recognized that playing in the NBA was a “gift that came from heaven”, while winning the bronze medal in the Beijing Olympics in 2008 with his home country felt like “touching the sky with his hands”, as mentioned on Mundo Deportivo.
