Unics grabbed a 63-58 home win over ex coach’s Andrea Trinchieri’s Brose Bamberg, with Keith Langford scoring 27 points and grabbing 8 rebounds. The Russians improved to a 7-10 record, leaving Bamberg at the same one.
Latavious Williams also contributed a lot to the winners, with 13 points and 3 rebounds, then Art Parakhouski had 8.
For Bamberg, Janis Strelnieks finished the game with 13 points, Darius Miller had 12 and Fabien Causeur, Leon Radosevic and Daniel Theis followed with 6 each.
Radosevic gave pace to the Germans early on, while doing a fantastic job both offensively and defensively. Unics was down 13-20 after the first 10 minutes. Bamberg had a 10 point lead at 16′, 19-29 and Langford started trimming it for the hosts. With 18 seconds left until halftime, Miller put his team ahead 30-36.
The visitors kept the lead in the third period, though Unics put more pressure on both ends of the court and with a 6-0 run, the score was tied to 44 points with 38 seconds left. A three pointer by Staiger and a quick answer by Langford made the score 46-47 after 30 minutes.
Another tie early in the final period by Williams gave Unics the chance to roll and grab a 59-53 lead with a little over 2 minutes left in the game.
