Despite recent big changes to the team, Besiktas Sompo Sigorta put on a convincing performance in the 96-67 home win over Happy Casa Brindisi.
In a very competitive Basketball Champions League Group D with all teams having a shot at the playoffs, Besiktas improves to 5-6 compared to Brindisi’s 4-7 record.
Six players scored in double-digits for Besiktas with Shaquielle McKissic leading the way with 18 in addition to Oguz Savas’ 17 and Nemanja Djurisic’s 15 points.
For Brindisi, Tyler Stone scored 18 followed by Darius Thompson with 13 and John Brown with 12 points.
Besiktas was up 24-14 after ten minutes and kept going for a big 55-30 lead at halftime thanks to full control of the paint. That pretty much did the job for Besiktas as they didn’t allow Brindisi to get closer than 19 points (66-47) after the break.
