Dinamo Sassari (10-3) logged an 83-73 home win against UNET Holon (6-7) keeping the chase for the top spot in Group A while also sending Filou Oostende (7-6) to the playoffs along the way.
Dwayne Evans led the charge with a double-double of 17 points and ten boards. Miro Bilan helped with 15 and Dyshawn Pierre with 11 points.
For Holon, Marcus Foster banked 23 points along with eight boards in addition to T.J. Cline’s 17 points.
Sassari was ahead 23-17 after ten minutes and although they had a 14-point lead (37-23), it dropped down to five at halftime (43-38).
The Italians got up by 12 points after the break (55-43) but Holon cut the gap to just one point (61-60) before the final period. However, the Israelis just couldn’t get over the hump and turn the game around as Sassari always seems to answer their comebacks perfectly. They started the fourth quarter with a 7-0 run which was enough to push them to victory.
