In a tough spot, but Lietkabelis remains in the hunt for the Basketball Champions League playoffs.

Facing elimination, Lietkabelis overcame a 17-0 run launched by SIG Strasbourg in the second period for the 82-69 victory on Wednesday evening. Needs one more win and additional help from other teams next week to advance to the Basketball Champions League playoffs.

Another MVP outing for Zeljko Sakic with 13 points, ten rebounds and six dimes. Zalgiris Kaunas product, Tomas Dimsa scored a game-high 19 points. Paulius Valinskas, another player out of Zalgiris’ youth team, went for 17 points in the Regular Season Gameday 13 contest.

Nenad Canak’s team jumped to a quick 12-point lead, but the visitors turned the tables to start the second quarter. Out of contention opponents displayed resiliency, but the Lithuanian outlet ultimately blew the game open and made it to 6-7 in Group A.

Defeat at the Cido Arena was the 11th straight in all competitions for the team coached by newly-appointed Lassi Tuovi. Gabe York with 14 points was not enough to snap the losing streak.
