In an exciting finish of the game, Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem managed to pull through and grab a narrow 96-91 home win against San Pablo Burgos.
TaShawn Thomas was on fire for Hapoel with game-high 27 points on 11-14 shooting while Suleiman Braimoh added 19 and James Feldeine 15 points. J’Covan Brown notched a double-double with ten points and 11 assists.
Braimoh also drained eight points – including two threes – down the stretch to help Hapoel recover from Burgos’ big comeback.
On the other side, Thaddus McFadden banked 20 points including four shots from deep in Burgos’ 14-0 run to grab an 88-84 lead with two minutes left. Jasiel Rivero had 13 and Augusto Lima 12 points along with ten boards.
Hapoel kept a perfect 7-0 home record with this win and they are the only squad to do so. They also secured the first place in Group B with a 10-3 record while Burgos stands at 7-6 and will have to overcome RASTA Vechta next week in order to advance.
