Hapoel Jerusalem announced that Wednesday’s (4/3) Basketball Champions League game against Peristeri would be played behind closed doors.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Israeli Ministry of Health announced that there all public gatherings of 5.000, or more, people are prohibited due to coronavirus concerns. Hapoel decided to hold the game without any fan attendance due to the fact that “the number of season-ticket holders and game-ticket buyers is much higher than the restriction by the Ministry of health.”
The restriction by the Israeli Ministry of Health shall also affect the attendance in Wednesday’s EuroLeague game between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Anadolu Efes. However, the game was held with 5.000 fans in the stands, almost at the half capacity of Maccabi‘s gym. This is the number of the restriction announced by the Israeli Ministry of health.
