The Basketball Champions League playoffs continue with the Round of 16 Game 2 affairs.

Hosts dominated Basketball Champions League Round of 16 Game 1 action prevailing in seven out of the eight matches. Game 2 is right up ahead with 1-1 ties or 2-0 sweeps in view.

The only home side with an opportunity to advance this week is San Pablo Burgos. Apart from Spain, Belgium, Germany, Greece, Lithuania, Russia, and Turkey will be the other venues on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Teskut Bandirma – ERA Nymburk

ERA Nymburk will visit the Kara Ali Acar Sport Hall searching for the second win in the best-of-three series opposite to Teskut Bandirma. Still undefeated in the NBL after 28 games, hopes to punch in the quarterfinals ticket this week. Despite financial issues and departing foreigners, Hakan Demir’s side jumped to 12-10 in Turkey’s Super Ligi on Sunday.

Lietkabelis – Casademont Zaragoza

Lost to Real Madrid on Sunday and fell to 16-7 in the ACB, but Casademont Zaragoza turns its attention to the Champions League looking to rebound in Lithuania against Lietkabelis. Porfirio Fisac’s side hopes to mark the long trip with a sweep. Nenad Canak’s team also lost over the weekend dropping to 16-8 in LKL.

Nizhny Novgorod – JDA Dijon

At the CEC Nagorny, Nizhny Novgorod will host JDA Dijon. The French outlet leads the best-of-three series 1-0 but is coming off a Jeep Elite Pro A defeat to AS Monaco that dropped them to 21-4 and second place. The Russian club fell to 7-11 in the VTB United League.

Peristeri winmasters – Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem

Up 1-0, Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem hopes to get the job done in Greece. The marquee Super League win versus Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv on Sunday upped its domestic W-L tally to 17-4. Nikos Papanikolopoulos’s team is 13-7 in the Basket League sitting in third place.

San Pablo Burgos – Dinamo Sassari

Following the triumph in Italy, San Pablo Burgos improved to 12-11 in ACB. Extending its winning ways would bring Joan Penarroya’s team to the quarterfinals. On the other hand, Dinamo Sassari will attempt to force a Game 3 after jumping to 16-5 in LBA Serie A.

Telekom Baskets Bonn – AEK

Strong finishing run landed AEK the 1-0 lead over Telekom Baskets Bonn. Game 2 in Germany is up next. Domestically, the team coached by Ilias Papatheodorou is 16-4 in Greece’s Basket League, while Will Voigt is 4-16 in Germany’s easyCredit BBL.

Filou Oostende – Iberostar Tenerife

BCL playoffs take Iberostar Tenerife to Belgium to face Filou Oostende. Txus Vidorreta’s club earned the 1-0 advantage last week but afterward fell to 14-8 in ACB. The weekend also saw the EuroMillions Basketball League leaders make it to 13-4.
