Iberostar Tenerife announced that head coach Txus Vidorreta extended his contract with the team for two more years. This means that Vidorreta will stay with the Spanish club until 2020-2023 since his current contract was to expire on 2021.
“The truth is that I’m very happy because this shows the confidence that the club has in the work we’re developing and, at the same time, how comfortable I am in the Canary Islands, Vidoretta said per the club’s website.
Vidoretta led Tenerife to winning the Basketball Champions League title of 2017. He was named Best Coach in the Spanish ACB League the same season. In his return to the team in 2018 following a stint with Valencia, Tenerife made the 2019 BCL Final and won the 2020 Intercontinental Cup.
