Arnoldas Kulboka will extend his run with RETAbet Bilbao to the 2020-21 season and the Basketball Champions League, Donatas Urbonas confirms. Emiliano Carchia and Chema de Lucas initially reported on his decision to remain with the Spanish club.
According to Kulboka’s agent, Tadas Bulotas, his client was set to join the Charlotte Hornets but the coronavirus pandemic altered his plans, Urbonas relays. He instead opted to stay with Bilbao, despite an offer from Zalgiris Kaunas.
His NBA rights belong to the Hornets since being selected by the organization in the 2018 NBA draft. The Lithuanian shooter was picked 55th and went on to play for the Hornets in the following Summer League editions.
Last summer, Kulboka inked a contract with Bilbao. His debut ACB season featured 8.5 points and 3.6 rebounds per game over 23 appearances until the decision to pause the 2019-20 season.
Coming out of the youth ranks of Zalgiris, the 22-year-old forward moved to Germany in 2015 joining Brose Bamberg. His next stops included a loan stint in Italy with Orlandina.
