Tofas Bursa became the latest club to officially declare its allegiance to the Basketball Champions League.
As the Turkish team announced: “Our club, which has been in Eurocup since 2017, gained important experiences during this three-year period. We would like to thank the Euroleague and Eurocup organizations for their cooperation so far.
We are pleased to announce that the special invitation we received from the FIBA competition Basketball Champions League is a more suitable pathway for our club strategy and future planning and that we will take part in BCL from next season. We think that the Basketball Champions League has a rising momentum in Europe and that it can be a candidate for the leadership of European basketball in a very short time with its business plan and sports criteria.
Having been in FIBA organizations many times before in the Cup Winners’ Cup (Saporta Cup), Korac Cup, FIBA Euroleague, and FIBA EuroChallenge, our club, which has achieved numerous successes since its establishment by focusing on sports and the development of young prospects. We will continue to proudly represent our country and Bursa in this new competitive environment.
In our games in the FIBA Basketball Champions League, one of Europe’s top basketball organizations, we state that we want to see all our fans with us, and we look forward to gaining new victories together. ”
This is the fifth marquee summer addition to the Basketball Champions League after Fortitudo Bologna, Bilbao, Darussafaka, and Rytas Vilnius.
