FIBA’s Basketball Champions League has been a very tempting option for clubs recently and according to Le Populaire, Limoges CSP will also be one of the teams joining the competition next season.

The report also states that the club agreed on a three-year deal and it will receive 50,000 euros per season. The move is also expected to help with securing sponsorships.

Limoges had the opportunity to join BCL in the past as well but instead stayed under EuroLeague’s wing. This past season, the French club played in EuroCup where they logged a 4-6 record in Group B, not advancing to Top 16.

The decision of Limoges continued somewhat of a trend this offseason as many clubs opted for BCL over EuroCup. Three Turkish clubs – Darussafaka, Tofas, and Galatasaray – as well as Rytas Vilnius also chose to change the competition.
