Louis Olinde is parting ways with Brose Bamberg, the German club announced. The 22-year-old German forward won’t be signing an extension with the team to pursue a new goal in his career.

“I think it’s time for me to take the next step in my career and face a new challenge,” Olinde said per Bamberg. “I would like to thank those responsible at Brose Bamberg for giving me the opportunity to play in a top European organization when I was 18.” Olinde joined Bamberg in June 2016, a few months after turning 18.

Olinde had declared for the NBA Draft in 2018 and 2019 but withdrew his participation. In 2019-2020, he averaged 5.5 points and 4.8 rebounds in 23.2 minutes over 14 Basketball Champions League games, along with 6.8 points and 5.3 rebounds in 23.2 minutes over 21 games of the German League.

“It’s a pity that Louis will leave us,” Bamberg Sports Director Leo de Rycke said. “We’d have loved to see him with us. He has developed a lot in recent years and could’ve been the face of Brose Bamberg. We wish him all the best in the tasks ahead.”

Bamberg also announced that the team won’t be renewing the contracts of guard Retin Obasohan and guard Jordan Crawford
