Dominic Lockhart inked a two-year contract to join Brose Bamberg, the German club announced on Tuesday. He is the second player picked up by Bamberg from BG Gottingen this summer following Bennet Hundt.
“If a player has a chance to play in Bamberg, he does not have to think long to accept it,” the latest addition mentioned, per his new team’s official site, “Johan (Roijakkers) is a coach who knows me for three years. This is a big advantage because I know exactly what to expect.”
The new head coach Johan Roijakkers, also coming from Gottingen, signed a three-year contract taking over Bamberg in early July.
“I am very happy that we managed to sign Dominic,” he pointed out, “We have worked together for three years, so we know each other very well. He knows exactly how I tick in both offense and defense. He is flexible being able to play in positions one through three and even defend from one through four.”
The 2020-21 season will feature Bamberg in the Basketball Champions League and Germany’s easyCredit BBL as well.
Lockhart holds BCL experience stemming from his stint with EWE Baskets Oldenburg. He played in 16 matches of FIBA’s premier club competition prior to joining Gottingen in 2017.
His 2019-20 run featured 21 appearances in the German league with 8.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.0 steals per contest.
