Peristeri announced the signing of guard Giannis Athinaiou with a one-year deal Thursday. Athinaiou, who spent the 2019-20 season sidelined after suffering a torn ACL in a national team friendly game against Serbia prior to the FIBA World Cup, will make his Basketball Champions League return with Peristeri.
The 32-year-old guard last played for PAOK in the Greek Basket League and Fos Provance in the French Jeep Elite during the 2018-19 season.
Peristeri also has a verbal deal with Marvin Jones according to Eurohoops sources, and the announcement is expected soon. 26-year-old Jones spent part of the 2019-20 season with Promitheas and participated in three 7DAYS EuroCup contests, with an average of 3.3 points and 1.7 rebounds in 7:19 on the court.
