Tyler Cavanaugh signed a one-year contract with Iberostar Tenerife, the Spanish team announced on Friday.
The 26-year-old forward moved to Europe last season playing with ALBA Berlin in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and Germany’s domestic competitions. Up next for the Cavanaugh will be the Basketball Champions League and the ACB.
After splitting his NCAA career between Wake Forest and George Washington, he went through 50 NBA games between the Atlanta Hawks and the Utah Jazz, also competed in the G League before landing in Germany.
His 2019-20 run featured 19 EuroLeague appearances up to the premature ending of the season due to the coronavirus pandemic. He averaged 6.4 points and 3.3 rebounds per match. At the domestic level, he posted 8.9 points per contest prior to the hiatus and 10.5 in the season-ending tournament helping ALBA capture the easyCredit BBL title.
