Luka Rupnik left Antwerp but he remains part of a Basketball Champions League contender, after signing a new year deal with Nymburk.
The 27 years old player began his career in Olimpija Ljubljana, with which he played in the EuroLeague and the EuroCup. In 2009, he was selected among the biggest European talents for the prestigious Jordan Brand Classic camp in New York. Czech Martin Kriz, with whom he will now meet in Nymburk, was also part of the camp the same year.
In 2016, Rupnik moved to Spain and played for Lleida and then for three seasons in Fuenlabrada. Last year he averaged 11.1 points, 3.6 assists, and 2.4 rebounds. He was also named MVP of the Belgian Cup with Antwerp.
Rupnik is one of the closest friends of Luka Doncic. They also prepared together during the long pause due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
