Darion Atkins is set to join AEK further strengthening a crowded frontline.
A Basketball Champions League regular since 2017 returns to FIBA’s premier club competition. SIG Strasbourg, Hapoel Holon, Brose Bamberg, and Iberostar Tenerife generated his previous BCL stints.
The Virginia alum split the 2019-20 season between Bamberg and Tenerife making his way to 12 Champions League games. He averaged 5.4 points and 2.7 rebounds per contest with the German and Spanish sides.
Already in for AEK are Costis Gontikas, Dimitris Katsivelis, Matt Lojeski, Yanick Moreira, and Tyrese Rice. Players retained include center Marcus Slaughter and forward Jonas Maciulis.
The Greek club will host the Final Eight planned to conclude the 2019-20 campaign and move on to the 2020-21 season with a spot in the Regular Season field.
