Dinamo Sassari and Galatasaray clashed to close the Day 1 action in the Basketball Champions League and the Italian side came out victorious with 93-84 on the scoreboard.
Marco Spissu was the man in charge with an all-around performance for the winning side, logging 22 points on 6-9 from deep along with eight assists, six rebounds and two steals for a total PIR of 33.
Justin Tillman added 17 and Miro Bilan 16 points. For Galata, Brock Motum scored 24 followed by Daryl Macon with 20 and Alex Hamilton with 19 points.
Galatasaray put on an effort in their BCL debut but it was far from enough against the Sassari squad which had everything under control from the tip-off.
They were up by 20-10 near the end of the first quarter and led by as much as 19 (38-19) thanks to great ball movement and control of the boards, especially on the offensive side.
It was 44-30 at halftime and Galata couldn’t do much after the break either. The Turks cut the gap to five points (57-52) but for a short while as Dinamo responded immediately to get back to double-digits (65-53) and safely close the game in the fourth quarter.
