The clash of two elite teams in the Basketball Champions League, between Dinamo Sassari and Iberostar Tenerife, ended with the Italian side taking a big 92-72 home win in Group A.
It was truly a team effort by Sassari which had six players score in double-digits with Justin Tillman leading the way with 21 points.
Miro Bilan added 18 points and eight boards while Marco Spissu had an impressive double-double with 14 points and 15 assists. A somewhat of a sour taste was left by the injury of Vasilije Pusica who spent less than five minutes on the floor.
On the other side, Bruno Fitipaldo banked game-high 24 points in addition to Alex Lopez’s ten points.
The outcome was far from expected and it definitely didn’t seem plausible early on in the game as Tenerife led by as much as 13 points (47-34) in the first half.
Whatever coach Gianmarco Pozzecco told his players during the break worked like a charm though as they completely took over in the second part of the match.
They were now the ones up by 13 (67-54) in front of the final ten minutes and they didn’t stop there. Sassari’s highest lead of the game was at the 26-point margin (90-64) as they cruised to victory.
