Nikos Papanikolopoulos is no longer the head coach of Peristeri, the club announced, and Argyris Pedoulakis has replaced him at the bench.

“Saddened to leave, but confident and optimistic about the future of the team, I am leaving Peristeri, after two and a half wonderful years. The team has very strong bases at all levels and with a compass, its DNA will continue to run successfully. I thank all those with whom I collaborated during these two and a half years and, obviously, I remain a friend and supporter of the team,” Papanikolopoulos said.

Peristeri started the season with a 2-1 record in the Greek League and a 1-1 record in the Basketball Champions League.

Pedoulakis is a former player of Peristeri while he also coached the team on three stints. His last job was at Panathinaikos in 2019 but their run together was cut short.

“I was invited by the team to help in a situation that has befallen. Our relationships with the people on the team are always special. What we will try to do is to get better every day in the difficult conditions we live in at the athletic and social level in order to be able to achieve our goals,” Pedoulakis noted.
