Happy Casa Brindisi won six straight games in the Italian League and they have continued with the same energy at the start of the Basketball Champions League, logging a 92-81 home win over Darussafaka in their first game this season.

Riccardo Visconti scored 20 points for the victors followed by Darius Thompson with 18 while James Bell added 14 and Nick Perkins 13 points.

For Darussafaka, Andrew Andrews banked in 26 points in addition to Sinan Guler’s 15 and William Buford’s 12 points.

The Italians were pretty much in control most of the game thanks to a strong offensive output, leading 30-20 after ten minutes and 48-38 at halftime. However, the guests didn’t allow an easy win and managed to cut the gap to as much as one point (66-65).

They stayed competitive for a while but an 8-0 run by the hosts midway through the fourth quarter put them ahead 84-74 and there was no way back for Darussafaka after that.
