Cholet put on a valiant effort and bounced back from an early deficit, however, AEK stayed composed and held them off for an 83-81 home win in Basketball Champions League.
Yanick Moreira put on a strong outing with 21 points on 9-13 shooting while Matt Lojeski added 18 and Keith Langford 13 points.
For Cholet, Nianta Diarra logged a double-double with 19 points and 12 boards followed by Lasan Kromah who scored 22 and Gerry Blakes who helped with 16 points.
Although trailing by 13 points (37-24) in the second quarter, Cholet managed to recover and bring the game down to the wire. They were down 80-79 with 16 seconds left but Lojeski stayed calm from the free-throw line while good defense by the Greek forced a crucial turnover on the other side which secured them the win.
