Fortitudo Lavoropiu Bologna relieved Romeo Sacchetti of his duties as head coach, the Italian club announced Sunday. Assistant Stefano Comuzzo will temporally take over as the interim Fortitudo boss.
Sacchetti, 67, was named head coach last May. The 0-1 Basketball Champions League start and 1-8 run in Italy’s LBA Serie A up to Saturday’s away loss to Germani Brescia cut his tenure short.
The former player with a coaching career stretching over two decades remains at the helm of the Italian senior national team.
