Playing only away from Russia, Nizhny Novgorod improved its Basketball Champions League tally to 2-1 with the latest win, 85-66, at the expense of Pszczołka Start Lublin Wednesday.
Kasey Shepherd hitting four out of the 16 three-pointers made drew up a game-high 19 points for the Russian outlet in the Regular Season Gameday 7 tilt held at the Globus Arena. Alexander Gankevich finished with 16 points to his name.
A strong defensive effort by Zoran Lukic’s players limited the fast breaks frequently preferred by the hosts. Sherron Dorsey-Walker at 17 points and Mateusz Dziemba at 13 were not enough to prevent falling to 0-3 in Group D.
The remaining three games being at home places Nizhny Novgorod in a strong position in terms of progressing to the next group stage of the 2020-21 BCL season.
