Igokea has been an equal contender for a playoff spot as the rest of the teams in Group G and they further proved it with a 75-73 home win over Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem.
Igokea improved to 2-1 compared to Hapoel’s 1-2 record in Basketball Champions League Group G.
Marko Josilo stood out with 17 points and 11 rebounds while Edin Atic helped with 15 and Anthony Clemmons 13 points. Jackie Carmichael scored ten.
For Hapoel, Suleiman Braimoh put on a big performance with 29 points (20 in the first half) on 12-15 shooting and nine rebounds. J’Covan Brown followed with 15 points.
Hapoel managed to recover from being down 25-12 and was down by just two points at halftime (40-38) thanks to Braimoh.
Although the game could go both ways, Igokea had an upper hand and Hapoel didn’t take over the lead since midway through teh third quarter (45-44). The Bosnian team had the answers to stay ahead until the very end and Antabia Waller’s contribution from the free-throw line down the stretch helped a lot.
