Coach Oded Kattash will be leaving for Panathinaikos OPAP soon enough but he had one more game left on Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem’s bench.
Unfortunately for him and his squad, it was a loss as Turk Telekom came out victorious 78-77 in the final seconds.
Hapoel had the lead for basically 39 minutes and was leading by as much as 19 points (47-28). However, Turk Telekom bounced back and Kamar Baldwin’s two-pointer off the dribble coupled with one free throw, later on, gave the away team the first lead of the game and the win.
Baldwin finished with 11 points while Sam Dekker logged 20 points and eight rebounds. Nick Johnson added 15 and Kyle Wiltjer 13 points.
For Hapoel, TaShawn Thomas and Tamir Blatt scored 15 points each while Chris Kramer added 14 and Malcolm Hill 12 points.
Turk Telekom (4-1) advanced to the playoffs with this win while Hapoel (2-3) will have to beat Limoges and hope for Igokea (3-2) to lose against Turk Telekom on the last Gameday of the regular season. Hapoel holds the tiebreaker against Igokea and would be ahead of the Bosnian team in that scenario.
