Hereda San Pablo Burgos logged a 90-86 road win against Happy Casa Brindisi and secured the No.1 spot in the Basketball Champions League Group H.
Burgos was ahead 41-35 at halftime and led by as much as ten points (76-66) in the fourth quarter, and although the Italian team made a dangerous comeback (88-86), the reigning champions didn’t allow any surprises with Vitor Benite sealing the deal from the free-throw line.
Benite finished with 12 points while Maksim Salash had game-high 20. Jasiel Rivero logged a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds.
For Brindisi, Nick Perkins scored 19 in addition to Derek Willis’ 15 and James Bell’s 14 points.
