Casademont Zaragoza announced Tuesday they have parted ways with center Jason Thompson, per the request of the player. The two sides had a valid contract until the end of the 2020-21 season.
Thompson, 34, has averaged 8.2 points and 5.1 rebounds in 18.20 minutes in the Spanish Liga Endesa this season, while he had an average of 16 points and 6.2 rebounds in 23 minutes in four Basketball Champions League contests prior to being sidelined due to an injury. He was part of the Zaragoza squad that reached the BCL semifinals in the 2020 Final Eight in Athens.
