Despite trailing by 12 early, Pinar Karsiyaka defeated Hapoel Unet-Credit Holon, 72-63, in front of 500 fans at Holon Toto Hall on Wednesday.
Raymar Morgan after a slow start kept piling up buckets for a game-high 24 points. The former Michigan State standout also pulled down 12 rebounds for his first Basketball Champions League double-double.
Sek Henry followed with 18 points, including a long-range dagger with 2:44 left in the Gameday 3 tilt. Tyrus McGee registered a team-high 14 points for the Israeli club.
The team coached by Stefanos Dedas, previously undefeated in Round of 16 Group I and coming off five consecutive wins in FIBA’s premier European club competition, jumped to a 12-point lead off strong defense but played catch-up most of the second half.
Holon went down 0-3 against the Turkish outlet in the BCL but both teams are now 2-1 in the playoffs group stage.
