Hapoel Unet-Credit Holon prevailed, 81-79, against Happy Casa Brindisi in the breathtaking battle stretching into overtime and awarding the first Basketball Champions League Final 8 berth of Group I.

Experienced Belgian forward Maxime De Zeeuw was the difference-maker hitting the game-winning layup off an out-of-bounds play with 1.5 seconds remaining. The 0.3 seconds left were not enough for yet another response by Francesco Vitucci’s players.

C.J. Harris packed a game-high 24 points. Chris Johnson finished with 15 points before fouling out of the Round of 16 Gameday 5 thriller at Holon Toto Hall.

On the opposite end, Darius Thompson went for 23 points draining four triples, including a long-range effort knotting it up at 79.

The Israeli team guided by Stefanos Dedas improved to 4-1. The visitors down 3-2 will keep looking for a Final 8 spot in Turkey against Pinar Karsiyaka next week via a win or a loss of a margin of four or fewer points.
