Hereda San Pablo Burgos left nothing to chance and with an impressive display against Igokea, which beat them just a couple of days ago, got their 83-71 revenge.
With this win, Burgos improved to 4-1 and together with Lenovo Tenerife (4-1) advanced to the Basketball Champions League Final Eight from Group J. Igokea (2-3) and VEF Riga (0-5) got eliminated.
Vitor Benite led the way with 19 points followed by Dejan Kravic with 16 and Alex Renfroe with ten points. Renfroe also dished eight assists and grabbed five boards while Jasiel Rivero had ten boards in addition to his eight points.
On the opposing team, Anthony Clemmons had another strong outing with 19 points while Steven Gray scored 15 and Darko Talic 12 points.
It’s not often the case for teams to outscore Burgos from the three-point territory as Igokea did tonight with 13 compared to six triples, however, the Spaniards completely denied them from scoring close to the basket and dominated the pain on the other side as well, cutting through to the win.
